With just a month away from the holiday season you would all be busy wrapping up your activities for 2015. So, I thought this is a good time to summarize the updates from Batchly. Batchly at re:Invent 2015 – This didn’t stay in Vegas! AWS re:Invent 2015 was bigger and bolder than ever before, with new product/feature launches and over 20,000 people attending the event. As you already know, Batchly intelligently provisions AWS resources (mostly AWS Spot Instances) to provide significant cost savings (over 70%) on your AWS bills.
We have been following the AWS EC2 Spot instances since its launch in December 2009 and through it various technical reincarnations, the recent one in Jan 2015 giving users a 2 min warning before terminating an outbid resource. AWS EC2 Spot Instance Is Excess Capacity Instances Available At Deep Discounts. For people who don’t know what they are, AWS EC2 Spot instances are excess capacity resources which AWS sells at deep discounts (86% lower than on-demand).
